Hamilton Christmas Parade

Come celebrate the joyous Christmas Season in the City of Hamilton at our annual Santa on the Square and Christmas Parade in Downtown Hamilton. The parade will begin at 6:00 P.M.

The Hamilton Christmas parade will travel its route through downtown Hamilton with holiday-themed floats and vehicles. All businesses, churches, civic organizations, and individuals who would like to participate are encouraged to do so. There is no entry fee for participation.

Line up registration for marching bands and all groups who will be walking in the parade will be held at the exit road at Hamilton Middle School.

Line up registration for floats and all vehicles with riders (pageant winners, etc.) will be at the Hamilton Fire Department / former National Guard Armory location. Equestrian line up will take place at the Marion County Co-Op.

Line up registration for antique vehicles line up will be at Star Printing and The Journal Record.

Please, no fake Santas. The real Santa is being provided transportation by the Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce and our friends at the Hamilton Fire Department.

Throwing of candy is permitted.

The parade route will be the reverse of the Homecoming Parade route, leaving from Alabama Highway 17, going North on Military Street, then West onto Bexar Ave. at the Courthouse, and then South on 1^st Street SW, then West on Aggie Ave.

Rules & Regulations:

• No fake Santas permitted! Santa is attending the parade courtesy of the Chamber!
• Liability waiver must be signed and submitted with this registration form. (Must be at least 19 years of age to enter, i.e., groups of young people must be registered by an adult who is responsible for the group.)
• All drivers in the parade must be properly licensed and covered by appropriate insurance as mandated by Alabama state law.
• All drivers in the parade agree to use caution, maintain proper parade pace and speed. Any usage of cell phones, handheld devices, or cameras while operating said vehicle participating in the parade or in the line-up area is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN and will result in removal from the parade.
• All drivers and participants in the parade agree to follow the instructions of the Hamilton Police Department and parade volunteers from the Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce.

Parade Information:

• Participants should arrive at designated location by 5:00 p.m. Parade begins promptly at 6:00 p.m.
• For those walking or marching in the parade, line-up will be in/around the playground area in front of Hamilton Middle School. Check in at the Chamber registration tent.
• For those driving in the parade or riding on a float, line-up will be near the area of the Hamilton Fire Department and former National Guard Armory. Check in at the Chamber registration tent.
• Equestrian riders will park, line up, and enter the parade at the Marion County Co-op.
• For antique vehicles line up will be at Star Printing and The Journal Record.
• The parade will end near the 2 Hamilton High School Gymnasiums. Participants who will be walking in the parade, should be picked up on the South lawn of Hamilton City Hall. Floats and vehicles with riders should unload in the same area in which they loaded.

Categories for Judging:

1. Best Decorated Float – Civic/Nonprofit Organizations Schools
2. Best Decorated Float – Business

These vehicles and floats will be judged in the parade line-up areas, and winners will be announced after the parade with trophies being awarded to first, second, and third places in each category.

New decorating category:

Best Decorated Business category will be added as part of the festivities. Winners will be announced after the parade with trophies being awarded to first, second, and third places.
